CEO: When can we go live with the "Project B" product/application?
Team: A very optimistic estimate is 1 year, but only if we put "Project A", that is to be released in 3 months, on hold or at least slow it down due to resources conflict.
CEO: Unacceptable! Project B needs to be done in 6 months!
Status report after 6 months: Both Project A and Project B are both delayed.
Status report after 12 months: Both Project A and Project B are still in delay.

(Who wants to scream to CEO "told you so!"?)
Obviously the other engineer is a poor engineer since he obviously doesn't understand Scotty estimates. Someone needs to educate him.
And, besides, the other engineer just got promoted (of course).
