Before we go to today’s comic, I wanted to share the occasional reminder that I have a Patreon.
Work Chronicles is a one-man operation, and if you wish to support it, you can join my Patreon for $1.25/month. If you don’t like recurring contributions, you can also make a one-time contribution at Ko-fi.

There are no official rewards. But to show my appreciation, I created a wall of gratitude with names of Supporters: https://workchronicles.com/wall-of-gratitude/
I can share the comics free of cost because of your support.
If you aren’t able to join the Patreon or Ko-fi, that’s fine too! I understand everyone has a different life situation and perspective. But thank you for supporting my comics by reading, liking, commenting on the comics and/or sharing the comics with your friends and/or replying to my Emails.
Thank you!
Now, onto to today’s comic:
Just give them a wildly inflated estimate.
When I worked as a programmer, I'd usually follow Scotty's Algorithm: estimate how long it would take if everything went well then multiply by 3. Of course, often programming does *not* go well, but if I completed the task in 1/3 the estimate, my boss would be impressed :-)
I gave my PM a WAG of 3 weeks. She didn’t accept it because I was too quick to respond. It took 3 weeks. LOL.
